What's On

	Over the holidays we run fun holiday stories and crafts for all ages. These holidays the theme was Fantastic Fairy Tale Fun in the Library!  We made a beanstalk and the witches cottage from Hansel and Gretel. But by far the most fun we had was at the session for the older kids where we made Gingerbread houses.  The librarians brought in the gingerbread and the kids had to stick it together with the 'cement' or icing and get busy with the decorations!  As you can see a lot of fun was had by all. Wonder what we'll do next holidays?

Young Adult Bookclub ' Strange Fruit'

If you are 11+ you can join our YA Bookclub 'Strange Fruit' today.  We meet on the last Friday of the month @ 4.00 pm in the Children's Library. Come along, talk books, partake in odd activities, and eat some strange fruit. See you there!

Baby Time at the Library (Blenheim only)

Baby Time is a special learning & play space set up for you and your baby.  Join us for our session especially for Under 2's.  Baby Time Schedule 2010.

Under 5's (Blenheim and Picton)

The Marlborough District Libraries' 'Under 5's' programme is designed to enhance the library experience for 2-5 year-olds (although any small body is welcome). We focus on a picture book, share stories and construct simple crafts and plays. Under 5's in Blenheim is on the last Tuesday of the month and in Picton on the last Wed of every month. Storytime is held in Blenheim every second Wednesday of the month, except during the school holidays and runs from 10:30am. Picton storytime is held every Tues and Thurs on demand between 10:00am and 12noon.

The sessions are free and everybody is welcome. Booking is not required for the Blenheim Library, but please book for the Picton Library sessions as space is limited.

Bouncy Beans is a club for eight to 12 year olds which meets on the second Monday of each month between 3.45 and 4.30 pm.

Sessions include:

• fun games, activities and crafts
• research, library skills
• literature appreciation
• personal challenges
• checking out new books (be the first to borrow)
• talking about books
