If you're into comic books or Manga, then be sure to check out our new Graphic novel collection in the Young Adult section. It is located beside the Young Adult Non Fiction shelves and contains heaps of cool reads like Star Wars, Batgirl, Superman and Batman.
Graphic Novels are like comics and use pictures or illustrations to tell the story along with words. They contain more mature themes than comics and are often serialised stories in a single book, so they are longer and more complex than comic books. In fact the artist is often more famous than the writer in graphic novels.
Manga (the term for a Japanese comic) are hugely popular in Japan and their popularity has inevitably spread to the West. We have a few of these in the Graphic Novel collection, in English, but they do read from right to left or 'backwards'.
