FAQs Opening at Alert Level 2

  • Both libraries will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Marlborough District Library (Blenheim) will have one door for entry and a different door for exiting. Entry for Picton Library and Service Centre - Waitohi Whare Mātauranga will be via the High Street entrance.

To enter the library you must have your library card so we can 'contact trace' if required. Only one family member is allowed at one time and your time spent in the library will be limited. Unfortunately if you do not have your library card you will not be able to enter the library.

  • You can return items, borrow items, and collect hold.

  • WiFi, public computers, printing, scanning, access to newspapers, access to Ancestry.com, study space, events, group meetings and our usual programming e.g. Baby Rhyme Time are not currently available.

  • We anticipate gradually increasing the services we offer over time.

  • All items issued prior to lockdown are not due until 30 June 2020.

  • An after hours' returns facility is available at both libraries. All items must be returned using this facility as we are quarantining all items for 72 hours before returning them to the shelves.

  • All returned items are placed into a quarantine area for 72 hours. At the end of the quarantine period items are returned to the shelves and can be borrowed.

  • Continue to place holds as normal.

Our Renew and Place a Hold has instructions on how to place a hold.
