New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults

The finalists in the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults have been announced.

The awards are divided into six main categories, with up to five finalists in each category.

The prizes are awarded to the winner of each category with an overall winner going home with the Margaret Mahy Book of the Year Award. There is an additional award for the Best First Book for a previously un-published work.

The awards are announced on Wednesday 8 August in a special ceremony held at Te Papa.
