Better Digital Futures for Seniors

This new programme supports people aged 65+ seeking help in going online. Choose one of four pathways to learn new skills and build confidence with using computers and the internet. This term we are offering Pathway 1 and Pathway 3.

Pathway 1 - Digital Introductory Pathway

This pathway runs for four consecutive Tuesdays, from 4 May to 25 May. Sessions last two hours, from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.

Learn about the different types of devices that are available and the different ways of communicating with people using the internet (e.g. messaging, Skype, Whatsapp). Also discover how to use the internet to pursue your hobbies. We will also discuss apps and websites that will make you more independent in finding products and services online.

Pathway 2 - Digital Essentials Pathway

This pathway runs for four consecutive Thursdays, from 13 May to 3 June. Sessions last two hours, from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.

Learn about the different types of devices that are available. Learn about the Internet, how it works, what internet packages are available and how to choose one suitable for your home. Create an email address (if you don't already have one), learn how to send and receive emails and include attachments. Also, learn how to search for and navigate websites.

Pathway 3 - Digital Engagement Pathway

This pathway runs for four consecutive Thursdays, from 17 June to 8 July. Sessions last two hours from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.

Learn how to shop and do your banking online. We also show you how to check websites and discuss security measures you can put in place to keep yourself and your data safe. The pathway also covers taking and managing photos and using the video-sharing platform YouTube.
