FAQs

  • This service is for all customers, including those who cannot or do not want to come into the libraries, but would still like access to our physical collections.

  • Orders are made up from Monday to Friday.

    Fill out a form by 3.00 pm the day before you want to collect your items. Tell us what type of items you would like and about the authors and genres you enjoy.

    We will select for you then let you know when they are ready for collection.

    If you have requested a kerbside pickup, phone us when you arrive and we will bring your order to you.

    Collection is available from Marlborough District Library and Picton Library and Service Centre Waitohi Whare Mātauranga.

    If your order is received after 3.00 pm, or we reach the capacity of orders we can fill for the day, your request will be actioned on the following week day.

  • Complete a form on our website or call us to place your order. You can place an order for an adult, a teen, a child or a pre-schooler. We also have paper forms available that a family member or friend could collect for you.

  • We follow Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure this service is delivered as safely as possible.

    When collecting items from inside the library, you must:

    • Wear a mask

    • Scan in with the COVID Tracer app

    • Show your My Vaccine Pass

  • We phone or email you when your order is ready.

    If you have requested a kerbside pickup, phone us when you arrive and we will bring your order to you.

    If you are isolating or unable to collect your order please ask someone to collect it on your behalf.

  • At Marlborough District Library your order will be on the Holds shelf, under your family name. The holds shelf is on your left as you enter through the front door.

    At Picton Library and Service Centre your takeaway order can be collected from under the Holds shelf.

    If you have requested a kerbside pickup, phone us when you arrive and we will bring your order to you.

  • We do this for you. Items are checked out before you come to collect them.

  • If your order is received after 3pm or at the weekend, or we reach the capacity of orders we can fill for the day, your request will be actioned on the following week day. Unfortunately, we currently do not have capacity to fulfil orders at the weekend.

  • Two days from being notified that your order is ready to collect.

  • They are returned to the shelves.

  • Specific titles will be added it to your selection if available on the day your order is fulfilled.

  • Yes. Normal charges apply.

  • You can pay online using these details:

    1. Bank: BNZ

    2. Account Name: Marlborough District Council

    3. Bank Account Number: 02-0600-0202861-000

    Please enter the following information so we can identify your payment:

    1. Reference: Your Library Card number/User ID (on the back of your Library Card)

    2. Code: use the word ‘Library’

    3. Include your name

  • Normal loan periods apply. A date due slip is included with your order. You can download the Marlborough District Libraries app to keep track of your account.

  • Our full range of digital resources are available on the website. This includes ebooks, eaudio books, newspapers, magazines, car workshop manuals and a wide range of study resources.

  • Return your items by using the returns slot. This is available 24/7.

    At the District Library this is located to the right of the entrance.

    At Picton Library and Service Centre this is located on the left at the High Street entrance.

  • Home delivery is available to Blenheim and Picton residents who are permanently, or temporarily, unable to get to a library themselves.
